WSHS Coaches


Bryan Tupper (Current Head Coach 2018-)


Bryan Tupper was also was a player for WSHS from 1999-2003. As a player Bryan was an outstanding pitcher who went on to play at Edmonds Community College and then D1 baseball at Western Carolina University.

In his first year as head coach of WSHS, Tupper has turned around the program, leading them to the quarter-finals of the Metro-League tournament.  This included a 2-0 defeat of an Ingraham HS team that was 12-3 during the regular season…as well as a defeat of cross town rivals Chief Sealth.

Past Coaches

Velko Vitalich (Head Coach from 1987-2017)


Velko served 30 years as Head Coach.  He was also a player for WSHS in the 70s.  Under Velko the WSHS baseball team:

  • Made the playoffs 26 times
  • Went to the state tournament 14 times
  • Won five metro championships
  • Won division championships 15 times


John Robinson (Head Coach from 1980-1986)


Ed Schmidt ( Head Coach from 1967-1979)


Budd Pripp (Head Coach from 1949-1966)

Pripp was a very successful coach.  He passed in 2008 at age 91 and was the inaugural member of the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
